Rodi Kratsa

1st Vice President European Parliament (2007-2012)

Rodi Kratsa has a long presence in the European political scene, with major roles in high positions as 1st Vice-President of the European Parliament. She had important responsibilities, such as the conciliation legislative procedure, the communication and information policy of the EP, the Euro-Mediterranean relations, as well as representing the EP at the Summits and Ministerial Conferences.

She studied Sociology at the University of Geneva and continued post-graduate studies at the Institute of European Studies of the same University.

Rodi Kratsa has worked systematically for the international role of the EU and particularly of the strengthening of the relations between the EU and the countries of the opposite side of the Mediterranean and the Arab Gulf, as well as Latin America.

She has been honored with high laurels from Heads of State, religious leaders and international institutions and she is a doctor honoris causa of two Universities.
