Ioannis Foteinos is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SALFO & Associates Group of Companies, the largest international Greek engineering firm and the first to enter ENR Magazine’s Global Top 200 International Design Firms.

Foteinos established SALFO & Associates in 1994, in Athens, for the provision of engineering and management services, covering all types of infrastructure and buildings. Since the first steps of SALFO as a business entity, Foteinos has adopted a business model based on intensification of extroversion and expansion beyond borders and has managed to gain the trust and loyalty of its clients both within and outside Greek borders, thus managing to establish a reputable multinational group with a strong presence mainly in South Eastern Europe and the Middle East. SALFO has been active in more than ten countries and has eight international offices in Cyprus, Romania, Serbia, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Other countries of operations include Azerbaijan and Tanzania.

In 2010, it was Foteinos’ strategic decision to enrich SALFO’s capabilities in architectural design and spatial planning by becoming a shareholder and affiliating with the company Thymio Papayannis & Associates, which has more than 50 years of experience in this field of services.

Under Foteinos’ leadership, the company has delivered some of the most complex and significant projects in Southeastern Europe and the Gulf area during the last two decades. Foteinos has managed to almost triple the Group’s turnover and personnel during the last four years, reaching more than $30 million of revenues and more than 350 employees in 2016, of which 70% are located outside Greece.

Foteinos, an economist by education, started his professional career as an advisor to private investors and public bodies,  mainly  for  the  development  and  evaluation  of  business  and  strategic  plans  and  major  national programmes in Greece. Prior to establishing SALFO and Associates, Foteinos was the founder and Managing Director of ICON S.A. and Global View S.A, which is today the management consultancy arm of SALFO Group of Companies.

Foteinos has been supporting for many years international charity organizations in Greece and abroad, such as UNICEF, Action Aid and Médecins Sans Frontières. Under his responsibility, the company is actively promoting social awareness and respect of human values and rights, by annually supporting organisations that improve the quality of life of vulnerable social groups, such as Syrian refugees in Greece, educational needs of public schools and medical needs of hospitals.

He is a graduate of the Athens University of Economics & Business and holds a Master of Science in Quantitative
